About The Artwork
Cypress Tree by Japanese artist, Eitoku of the Edo period inspired this work. In contrast to the original's glory of gold leaf on screen, I used metallic silver paint in the background, and the intricate pattern work is all done by hand. Tiny dots painted with a dropper give form to the tree. This piece is a diptych.
