Déopnes Painting

Yulia Babanova is a London-based visual artist. She draws her inspiration from a variety of topics including abstract expressionism, philosophy, ancient civilisations and modern mysticism. Yulia mixes classical oil painting techniques such as glazing and impasto with experimental materials adding ciphered messages in her own secret alphabet she created as a child. Elements of works are often meticulously painted only to be destroyed afterwards, leaving traces of the old to give birth to the new – a symbol of an infinite cycle of rebirth.
