About the Artist

Maziar Yoush

United States

Born in Rasht, one of the northern cities of Iran, in 1979. I graduated from LA Film School with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design; however, painting has always been with me, and I continue it throughout my entire life, much like poetry and sculpture.

In the process of creating artwork, I do not limit myself to any specific medium or material. Whatever best conveys my message to the audience becomes the chosen medium. That said, most of my recent work is painting, primarily acrylic on canvas.

Art, for me, is a single unit and element through which I communicate—sometimes through sculpture, sometimes through painting, sound, or words in the form of poetry.

I strive to reach the highest level of art through my work, a concept I call Astonishmentism. Astonishmentism represents the peak of creativity, where the artist does not force creation but instead observes the nature of the world and the logic of nature itself. In this approach, the material is irrelevant—anything can become a medium, and anywhere can become a place of creation.
