About The Artwork
For the artwork, Dark Energy, I wanted to create a concept of man trying to understand dark energy using the knowledge of the scientific method that is currently within our reach. The symbolism of the knowledge are the quick dashes of acrylic that surrounds the abstract faces. The confusion comes in where there is more to dark energy than what is understood, and what consciousness understands about dark energy becomes just as wild and enigmatic as the acrylic and other mediums of method upon the canvas. On the left of the canvas is the doubling of sight, on the right, is the symbolism of human thought trying to remain grounded within the confines of the scientific method, having a type of poker face, abstract expression, but the mind of the human, the textured patterns above the face, in awe and inspired by the new discovery and its potential. This painting was inspired by the Philosophy of Science course that I took as a junior in college, the human mind and the energy of discovery when it comes to science, the world, and the universe.
