About The Artwork
I’m doing this little project called Diaspora inspired by circular imagery in the depiction of life after death. Like in Tibetan imagery they show the bardo realms which are circular and in Dante Alighieri's canto, he shows the 9 circles of hell after death. Inspired by the constant cyclical motions in life and after life. This painting is inspired from the Dante poem where he describes the infernal abyss. I used japanese indigo dye technique called shibori and the dye is called aizome.
