Using anger as energy in order to tackle its very causes. This painting is part of a series having cats as its main subject. The canvases are battered, scratched, painted and washed several times to obtain a background resembling a wall on which many layers of color have been applied and later removed. A personal representation of the constant work we do on ourselves to change/improve who we are without, unfortunately, being able to completely erase things from the past that stay with us. Signed both front and back. The date of completion and thoughts which inspired the work are also marked on the back. The painting comes with a certificate with a detailed description and the English translation of the notes written on the back of the canvas. The painted unfinished wood frames are an integral part of the work and with their imperfections, cracks and undulations caused by changes in temperature and humidity have the intention of making the work come ”alive". The painting is shipped in a wooden crate (or cardboard box). The painted unfinished wood frame is provided with a hook and is ready to hang out of the box.

Italy
Jerry Magni (born 1968 in Italy) is an Italian tattoo artist. His work investigates the impossibility of cleansing the unconscious, of taming it, like the cats on his battered, scratched, worn-out canvases, like obsolete walls on which several layers of peeled plaster overlap. Surreal subjects with sharp contours, just like emotions; reinterpreted, like feelings that, evolving, continue to leave a mark. He doesn’t have any reference artists, in the world of internet the influences are diverse, continuous, conflicting; likewise, the text on his paintings allow for diverse interpretations beyond the image. He paints nervously and instinctively alternating periods of inactivity to periods of extreme creativity.
