About The Artwork
'After the rain' is a painting of a street in Pinheiros, Sao Paulo, where a family lived under the Marielle Franco steps (Escadao Marielle Franco). As soon as the rain stopped, everyone comes out on to the street again to sweep, chat and watch the world go by. The rain enhances the vibrant colours and smells of the trees and plants - which I enjoyed painting using a large brush and a limited palette of colours.
