About The Artwork
This work is a reference to the famous painting "Der Raub der Töchter des Leukippos", painting of Rubens in the Beginning of the 17th century. Here I tried to expressively paint and changing the robberied women (daughters) into sons. Additionally I worked with drawing to emphasize deepness in the painting and show opened rooms in the second sense. The grey colour symbolizes the greek antique, whereas the lemon colour stands for freshness, summer, progress. This lemonized cycle consists of about 15 works at the moment and is still ongoing, combining painting with drawing and creating deep spaces.
