Another Halloween painting that I did. One of the most 'different' pieces I've done so far. Usually I tend to stick to trees, nature etc. I started with this background of colors that were out of my comfort zone, (not so into bright) and just let the brush do the walking. To me, it definitely expresses how I was feeling at the time. I was being enveloped by some greater force than I could withstand. Looking back now, I see it was my subconscious telling me I was being devoured by my surroundings. Funny story though, I was asking my son (17) what he thought of it. The FIRST thing he said was "Why are there only 4 fingers on one side, and 5 on the other?" Haha.I didn't change it. But now I know that I can't take him to any museum that is having an Abstract art exhibition =p

About me? I am a single mother, trying to do the best I can. I have birthed four beautiful boys, 3 are living. Since my oldest committed suicide I have been trying to acclimate to life again. It's the same; but it isn't.... I have struggled my entire life to fit into boxes with impossible standards. I have had no formal art education; maybe someday. For now I am just painting what I know, and picking up along the way. Painting to me is an outlet, not a means for survival. While I dance across the line of life and spirituality, I embrace every moment. God is the only reason I have come as far in life as I have; I am the reason I have not gone as far as I could... I am thankful for every view I get, every 'pat on the back' I receive, every critique. I feel that art is ever moving, ever breathing, ever changing. Evolving as the times change.
