About The Artwork

"There is explanation: the dharma is symbolised by the bull. In satya yuga he stands on four legs, in treta yuga on three, in dvapara yuga on two, in kali yuga on one. The four legs (or supports) of dharma are: 1 asceticism - voluntarily accepting hardships for development. 2 purity - maintaining purity of body and mind, internal and external. 3 mercy - to feel and accept the pain and suffering of other sentient beings as our own. 4 truthfulness - to be sincere and honest with oneself and others. The scriptures state that in kali yuga people have no asceticism, purity and mercy. What is left is a respectful attitude towards truthfulness."
