Dignity Painting

The tiger in Philadelphia Zoo, took the photo in 2016. The king of the jungle. Proud, confident, self assured, superior, dignity. solid, steady. Tiger! Tiger. Tiger. That is me!. I put him back to his world... The mountain, the grass, the water full etc. The following is the real story about him from The Zoo keeper from Philadelphia Zoo: That handsome boy in the tiger is one of our tiger boys named Wiz. His twin brother, also at the Zoo, is Dimitri. Wiz and Dimitri were born at the Columbus Zoo in 2012 and came to us in 2014. A professional hockey player in Columbus paid $10,000 to name one of the cubs and he named him after himself, hence the name Wiz (it was the hockey player’s nickname). Zoo keepers in Columbus named the other cub Dimitri, a common Russian male name. Wiz is not the father of Zoya. Zoya’s father is Grom (see attached photo) and his name means “thunder” in Russian. Grom is now at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas. We did try breeding Grom and Koosaka (Zoya’ mom) a second time but it didn’t work out, neither were interested and it almost became aggressive so we didn’t push it. Since Zoya is Grom’s only offspring, he was moved to Wichita to breed their female because he’s still considered genetically valuable. The pair did breed but unfortunately the female did not become pregnant. Hopefully they will try again this season.
