Until the age of 30, I did not promote myself as an artist, because painting was my favorite hobby. I worked as an architect and designer. At some point, I realized that I must use the gift received from God. The gift and talent of drawing. Must bring something to the world. To say something of their own, nobody said to me. I began my artistic search with the creation of a series of works under the common name "in search of Christ." These are illustrations on gospel subjects. In past centuries, artists depicting Gospel scenes, especially in the Netherlands, used their contemporary interiors, landscapes, and often contemporary clothes for the artist in the characters of Bible stories. Also, the images of Christ and the saints were very naturalistic. Artists used models, sitters to portray the characters of the Gospel and the Bible. I decided to look for ways to portray the plots of the bible in the authentic setting of Judea. I began to look for photos, panoramas, historical evidence, in order to show those events in extremely accurate conditions. In addition, when depicting characters, I decided not to focus as much as possible on an accurate, realistic image, but on the ultimate emotional expression with artistic techniques of feelings and experiences that I wanted to convey to the viewer. Another part of my work is the theme of childhood, still lifes and landscapes in which I always try to work with the help of light. Light, color, picturesqueness always remain for me the main technical elements for transmitting feelings and emotions."
