Do you miss me Painting

Although I live in London and have from 25 years, I sometimes miss the Pennsylvania woodlands where I grew up. This autobiographical piece represents a time when at 22 years old I had to decide between staying with my family in Pennsylvania or moving to London where I could live the life I wanted to. These days I miss home, but home is gone, the people and the place. This is something between a memory and reality, what I see when I remember that time. The piece is three dimensional, and interacts with the viewer. The figure and trees are painted on organza, stretched over a shadow box. Different types of light play with the figure, the trees, the moons scape and the reflective London cityscape which appears in the clouds. It is unusually framed, attached to my original easel that i bought when I first came to the city. It is worth noting that this is a watercolour easel and is meant to be mounted on the wall with the painting. It is removable though and the piece could easily be reframed to suit any room.
