About The Artwork
In 1985 I did a painting of an apple tree seedling I'd planted in a milk cartoon, but didn't like it and painted over it. Several years later, I did another version, liked it and kept it until the 2020 August Complex Fire showed up and it perished with a group of other works. "Double Apple 3" is the latest version.

I was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Bay Area. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Fine Arts in 1976, earned my teaching credentials from California State University in Hayward in 1978, and an MFA in Painting from CCAC in Oakland, which is now named CCA. My paintings, drawings and prints are in private, public and corporate collections throughout California, including the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, the J.P. Morgan Foundation in Los Angeles, and Grubb & Ellis in San Francisco. I've been included in over 90 juried and commercial gallery shows, and in 2004, Moved to a small, Northern California town called Ruth, where I now have my home and maintain a studio.
