About The Artwork

This painting is another piece of the "Horzins" series. The ultramarine blue sky turns into an English red, which could be a distant land, which turns into a yellow stripe - the second horizon, which is followed by another band, a blue and brown one: this is where the sky and the ground meet again.

Emőke was born in Târgu Mureș, Romania in 1990. She attended the fine art school in her hometown. After graduating at the painting department of the University of Art and Design Cluj in 2014, she has been working with color and space illusion, mainly in the medium of oil painting. Lately she has been experimenting with watercolors and Chinese ink in order to find new approaches. Her works have been shown at the “Intersections” exhibition in Limes Gallery in Komarno, Slovacia and in the "New page" art on paper online exhibition, by Art of Tommorow in 2022. She participated in the I. Valdis Buss Plein Air symposium in Latvia in 2017 and in 2018 she was one of the participating artists of the Pienkowski Art Residency in Poland. She is living and working in Oradea, Romania.
