About The Artwork
Oil on linen 69x77x2cm (27.2x30.3x0.8in) 2020, ready to hang. Please note that the linen canvas fabric looks quite irregular when stretched on its wooden frame. This is due to the nature of the priming and do not affect the quality of the painting (see picture). “Dreaming of the Flowers Market” is a fine quality painting in which I experimented and mixed two different techniques: photorealism and imagination. The girl on the right, the “dreamer”, is an extremely detailed copy of a photograph. The background (the flowers market) comes 100% from my imagination and from a reminding of Columbia Road Market in London. The result is an interesting mix, full of details and colours. “Dreaming of the Flowers Market” is an oil on linen artwork, painted on a hand-primed canvas and stretched on a wooden support. The painting is signed on the back and ready to hang.

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours.
