About The Artwork

west African tomato baskets and acrylic background on canvas About 3weeks ago i visited a neighbor who sales food supplies and fresh veggies to buy some tomatoes for a good naija jollof rice, I saw this empty baskets of tomatoes out of curiosity i asked her what she's going to do with it she replied that it's packed up for burning. Immediately i started thinking and asking myself what Oh this baskets shouldn't go just like that, suddenly a thought came to my mind "Dry bones" the story of the dry bones in the bible and how dead dry bones came back to life (Ezekiel 37:1-10) , I went home and 2week later i called her that I've figured what to do with the baskets she gladly gave it to me and i started working on it. about 827 pieces of the baskets and 119 working hours.

King is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist from Enugu, Nigeria. He was diagnosed with dyslexia from an early age. As a response to this, he started to explore painting as an alternative communication tool. By portraying his emotions on the canvas, the obstacles present in written language, disappear. Through diverse forms of material expression, such as designing, making handmade leather crafts and jewellery, he creates mixed media artworks which combine his artistic knowledge with his unique way of perceiving the world. In October 2021, King founded the “afro-evangelism art” movement, which aims on utilising the beauty of art to preach a message of love and stir up spiritual enlightenment in the mind of his viewers.
