About The Artwork

This impasto acrylic on canvas painting captures the striking visage of a young man with vitiligo, showcasing a bold, confident face against a backdrop of deep blue. The use of impasto technique creates texture and depth, emphasizing the contrast between the dark brown skin and the straight stripes of lighter tones traversing his face. The symbolism within this artwork speaks to the complexity and beauty of human identity. The portrayal of the young man with vitiligo challenges conventional notions of beauty, celebrating uniqueness and individuality. The straight stripes across his face symbolize the intersection of different identities, representing the harmony and acceptance of diverse aspects of oneself. The deep blue background conveys a sense of depth, mystery, and introspection, suggesting a contemplative mood and inviting viewers to reflect on the intricate layers of human experience. "Duality of Identity" aims to evoke empathy, encourage acceptance, and celebrate the richness found within diversity.
