About The Artwork
My paintings shift "from chance to precision," allowing the mediums to randomly wash, drip, fold and curl. I consciously relinquish control in the initial phases to employ serendipitous results, alternating between a visual anxiety and quiet distillation. I transition into precision with drawing and painting carefully abstracted imagery. I am particularly interested in creating high contrast, energized movement. In "Dynasty," I introduced basketball nets as a structured pattern, creating uniformly consistent replicated intersections, concentrating on light/shadow, black/white, and a tonal, monochromatic palette.
