Painted by Jean Leighton in the early 70's. this piece was painted for the awareness of the killing of our planet. This piece won 1st Prize with artist from over 120 countries from around the world at the Pan American International Art Exhibition in Miami Florida. The first place ribbon was given by the Archbishop Carroll and the 1st prize check was given by the Dow Chemical Company. The artist was years before her time with respect to the destruction of our planet.

Ms. Leighton, along with 14 other artists, was a founder of the Coconut Grove Art Festival. She was a past vice president and a member of the board of directors for the Women's Caucus for Art in Miami. She also was a founding member of 2+3, a Broward County art group. She staged several individual exhibits and participated in more than 70 group exhibitions of her work. Studio Paints A Picture Of Success In 1999 Jean Leighton was inducted into the Broward County Woman's Hall of Fame.
