Minimalistic abstraction of concrete and acrylic paint, ready to hang. Painting to jazz rhythms, S. Mangelsen creates her very own and typical gestural abstractions, giving them a very personal touch of jazzy elegance, rhythm and finesse combined with a Berlin understatement vibe. Mangelsen‘s informal art appeals to introspection, to our (sub-) consciousness and evokes a both inner and outer dialogue with the viewer. EASY BREEZE is created with gentle brush strokes in a smooth color palette of autumn tones. In its combination of a soft color touch and a character giving structural surface of concrete, it opens a space to thoughts and awareness as well as creates a vivid finesse of a minimalistic and modern ambient. Mixed media of S. Mangelsen's own recipe of thin concrete and acrylic paint on canvas. Gallery quality of media and canvas, the surface is protected by special varnish, e.g. against UV rays. Hand-signed and dated on the back. Ready to hang. + Gallery Certificate of Authenticity Worldwide shipping. Berlin, 2023.

Germany
Sophie Mangelsen creates her very own and characteristically gestural abstractions, giving them her very personal touch of elegance, rhythm and finesse, all in a Berlin understatement vibe. Her informal art appeals to introspection and evokes an inner and outer dialogue with the viewer - posing questions about consciousness and unconsciousness, harmony and disharmony, balance and imbalance - to inner landscapes of the complexity of our mind. Sophie Mangelsen, from Berlin, is additionally inspired on her journey by her experience as a psychologist and therapist. She studied at the Université Paris VIII and the University of Leipzig and found her form of expression in painting already in her youth. Her paintings are shown at international exhibitions and are in private collections around the world. In 2022 she was invited as a jury member in the international competition of BALTHASART. The artist lives in Berlin Kreuzberg.
