This work continues the series entitled 'People We May Know', paintings that portray people who are both remembered and imagined. This woman gazes out at the viewer with orange tinted eyes, in coordinated earrings and orange and white striped top. Wright's paintings suggest how the outward appearances of people we see everyday leads to opinions formed from what we see. Stories of the characters can be your own or belong to the subject in the painting, there is a space for imaginary and/or factual worlds to be created. The colour palette is inspired by Le Corbusier's Architectural Polychromy, a palette of colour combinations that promote harmony, spaciality and psychological benefit.

Incorporating painting, drawing, installation and time based work Caroline Wright's practice explores identity, loss, and the body. She sometimes works site specifically responding to locations as varied as cities, beaches, festivals and public buildings. Wright's paintings are intuitively produced, drawing on memories of people encountered in daily life coupled with her own imagined characters. Her distinctive colour palette references Le Corbusier's Architectural Polychromy, a collection of colour combinations devised for their harmonic, spatial and psychological effects. Wright is currently undertaking PhD research at the Royal College of Art, and is Programme Leader for post- and undergraduate Fine Art at The Open College of the Arts. She exhibits nationally and internationally and has been in receipt of several awards, grants and prizes.
