In particular, easels are traditionally used by painters to support a painting while they work on it, normally standing up, and are also sometimes used to display finished paintings. Easel painting is also a older term in art history for the type of midsize painting that would have been painted on an easel, as opposed to a fresco wall painting, a large altarpiece or other piece that would have been painted on some other surface.

Born on November 25, 1957 in Knjaževac. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Belgrade in 1986, at the Department of Painting under the mentorship of Prof. Mirjana Mihać. He acquired his master’s degree in 1988 at the same Faculty. ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) member from 1987. He lives and works as a freelance artist in New Belgrade. e-mail:
