Edward's Brother Painting

This was originally an attempt to create a portrait of a friend, Edward. He's a powerful bloke, my friend Edward; his daytime job is a Chief Detective Inspector in Special Branch's Anti Terrorist Unit. At night he writes screenplays, with far less success...but it is what keeps him sane. The portrait is not quite right, but it got to that point where either I obsessively continued to try and dredge Ed's face onto the canvas, or went with the strong face that had emerged. Well, route of least resistance and all that, and to be fair, it looks a lot like Ed. If he had a better looking brother, this would be him. So that's it. Edward's Brother.
