Staring in the eyes of freedom and elegance. I always felt the most at ease with animals. They don’t have to say anything but can still comfort us, they are grateful for the attention you give them. I painted this as a study of animals who don't get painted a lot.

My name is Lisa-Marie Billiet, visual artist from Ruiselede Belgium. I paint with acrylic paint on canvas and use paintbrush as well as paletteknives to give my paintings an extra dimension. The paint splatters I often add to give my work some dynamic and movement. I start my paintings from personal events, that I then translate from the point of view of animals. The colors are based on the emotions I want to elicit through the painting. With most paintings I write a little passage with a message to myself and others.
