Art Description

Painting: Paper, Acrylic, Spray Paint, Watercolor on Canvas.

"Elle en rouge" is part of the series "cover mag" that features men and women from others centuries on current fashion magazines' covers. This young and elegant woman was painted by Eduard Frierich Leybold in 1824. The original painting was sold at auction by Christies in 2011. I used here a detail for this personnal interpretation of ELLE's cover and tried to figure out who would have been on cover at this period of time if such a magazine would have existed. A mix of past and present.
The artwork is varnished (anti UV) and ready to hang.
