About The Artwork

Painting a landscape is much more than copying what I see, it is making a connection with the space I am occupying at the time. There is a feeling of privilege sharing these spaces and a respect for my surroundings. The is connection exists between the natural world, wildlife and man-made objects and how they relate to each other. Without respect this connection can become shattered, dry and barren and a ghost of itself. As a result, there is a fine line that exists between pristine beauty and the capability of humans to forever fracture the natural balance. Celebration is what I feel when I survey the landscape. The ever-changing weather patterns display an array of colours - some days there are rainbows across the buildings or amazing clouds that form shapes with which the imagination can play. Buildings become mere shapes or shadows and the environment takes over. My work represents the changing focus of my attention as I am continually challenged by what I see and feel. At times, the feeling goes beyond art where I want to protect and nurture what is out there.

I am an Australian artist, living and working in my studio in London. My work includes painting, collage, mixed media, prints and installations I enjoy working with the different elements and piecing them together to create some kind of logic and order. There is a fundamental pleasure in connecting images together to create something that did not previously exist. There is a landfill of ideas out there and a universe of nonsense that needs sorting. I am drawn to artists who push the envelope, unafraid of producing works and images that may be confronting, but always thought-provoking. My main influences are Peter Blake, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Paul Klee, Joseph Cornell, Nick Bantock, Ray Johnson, James Jean, Raymond Pettibon PLEASE NOTE FROM TIME TO TIME SOME WORKS ARE MARKED "NOT FOR SALE" DUE TO INCLUSION IN AN EXHIBITION OR AN ART FAIR. IT WOULD ONLY BE FOR A SHORT TIME AND THE WORKS WILL BE BACK FOR "SALE" AS SOON AS THE SAID EVENT HAS ENDED. IF SOLD AT AN EVENT OF COURSE THEY WILL BE MARKED "SOLD".
