About The Artwork

This painting is inspired by an aerial view of the Colorado River as it empties into the Sea of Cortez. The geometric forms and shapes give it an abstract feel. The colors are brilliant with the use of resin to glaze and intensify the color scheme. The painting uses both a broad palette knife and brushes to move the paint color and to create texture. This oil painting is an original one of a kind interpretation creating a contemporary feel in the square format. It leads the viewer into an introspection of the imagery as they enter the painting and follow the colors, line and shapes around the canvas creating their own connections and interpretation. The painting is on deep stretched canvas with heavy duty hardware and wire for hanging. The sides are painted so no frame is needed.
