ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Knowing that climate change and habitat reduction are negatively impacting many endangered species, I was inspired to paint a series of artworks to call attention to their precarious status. I chose to include a portrait of an indigenous Mentawai female from the region because the traditional cultures of these people are also endangered by the same influences.
