About The Artwork
15 x 11" watercolor and ink on paper. This number 18 in my Entanglement Series. This is a series of paintings exploring relationships between color and line in compositions that are highly chaotic but strive to find balance. This particular painting makes use of a pallet of mostly pastels accentuated by bright, popping reds. This painting has a spring time feeling to it, reminiscent of new growth in a garden or a walk along a river after all the snow has melted. The subtitle (Still Finding Eggs) is something my mom likes to say about her annual Easter Egg hunt. I'll call her up a week after and she'll say they're still finding eggs in the yard. I like it because it shows that we have the capacity to surprise ourselves in unexpected ways.

Blake Brasher is a visual artist who currently lives and works in Lowell, MA. He grew up In North Pole, Alaska, and also lived in Turkey, Texas, and Arizona before moving to Massachusetts to attend MIT. He earned a bachelor of science I. Art and design from MIT in 2003 and has also studied art at Harvard and CMU. He also works three days a week as a robotics engineer for Boston Dynamics in Waltham, MA and had a decade long career as a living statue in Harvard Square, Cambridge and other venues around the world.
