About The Artwork
Whangaroa is a harbour on the East coast of Northland New Zealand. The entrance to the harbour is very narrow and this is part of the reason it was missed by Captain Cook in 1769 as it was obscured by an island. Whangaroa itself is very beautiful. This is the view from Tauranga Bay a beautiful bay just to the South. As you can see the entrance is not obvious. This is an original oil painting on gessoed hardboard. It has been painted using Gamblin professional oil paints. The back of the panel has been coated with acrylic paint to protect it. This painting is framed in a black 'floating' frame. The outside dimensions of the frame are 14" x 12". Thank you for taking the time to view my work
