"Eternal Springtime" is inspired by Auguste Rodin's sculpture of the same name. It exaggerates the most expressive and emotional characteristics of the sculpture while also celebrating the reflective and metallic nature of bronze, nestled within a shadowed garden. The most compelling part of this piece is its variability - just like Springtime itself. In low light and shadow, only glimmers of the figures are visible, but in direct sunlight it shows off incredibly vibrant blues, greens, reds and purples. This acrylic painting on canvas board was created by overlapping images from the sculpture to create a new form. Original (16 W x 20 H in) has been sold, but prints of different sizes will be available soon. Natalie Tarasar was born and raised in Colorado, which fueled her creativity. She moved to the Washington DC area to pursue a career in international development and environmental conservation, where she currently works at the World Wildlife Fund. She continues to pursue her artwork independently in her free time. She was the youngest artist to be juried into the Alexandria, VA Torpedo Factory’s Visiting Artist in Residence program and is a current member of the Arlington Artist Alliance. Natalie is interested in figurative abstraction as a tool to communicate emotion. Her work typically entails still snapshots of the human form from varying angles overlaid on top of each-other. She experiments with multimedia, acrylics, pastels, and oils. She also is working on a Giving back to Wildlife Series of endangered species to support conservation efforts, which you can see on her website NatalieTarasar.com
