The painting is part of the "OLD SCHOOL" series, in which elements from different phases of the past are combined. In this case, a still life painting in the style of Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder (in this case "Tulips, Rose, Carnations, Lily of the Valley, Forget-Me-Nots and Other Flowers in a Vase" from 1619, enlarged from 28.5x19.5cm to 130x105cm) is combined with a 1980's vinyl toy figure (Cringer from Mattel's Masters of the Universe). On one hand, the interaction of the two positions creates tension, but on the other hand they harmonize very well with each other. The noble, timeless appearance of Bosschaert's composition also dominates the new work, but in combination with the action figure it looks young and fresh.
