About The Artwork

The only people for me are the mad ones: the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who... burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow Roman candles. (Jack Kerouac) Wietzie is inspired by nature and poetry, and she paint the world as she sees it- imperfect and in constant change. She creates her work through a unique technique of vigorous knife strokes that creates a textured and layered surface full of impasto markings. She uses sweeping thick movements of paint in a dynamic spontaneous manner . A flowerscape where nature move across the canvas in a flurry of activity, a myriad of small elements to create the bigger picture. Continuously changing, flowers represents the perfect symbol for all our emotions in life.
