About The Artwork

"Facial Study" is a small piece that was done in preparation for working on a larger painting regarding mental health, specifically someone with D.I.D. or multiple personality disorder. As an artist who has D.I.D., Allison Gamblin is in a unique way able to attempt to communicate what having such an uncommon disorder is like. The stripes to the left represent the personalities attached to the individual. However, what the public [far right face] sees is a single individual. Whether they realize it or not, despite seeing a single face, they are being studied by all the personalities behind the eyes of a Multiple.

A United States Air Force Veteran, Allison Gamblin has worked with numerous fields. But she's found a new peace in art. Her pieces are based in hope for the future, specifically spacescapes, scifi fantasy musings, and the occasional still life study. Still early in her traditional art career, Allison has spent the last decade working in graphic imaging, website development, and graphic creation for use on the web.
