About The Artwork
Painting-illusion. At the same time, a portrait of a Cossack (Ukrainian warrior) and a falcon with young falcons is depicted. This painting is an allegory, because the Cossacks are historical descendants of the Kiev warrior prince Svyatoslav. His coat of arms had the image of a falcon. The Byzantine historian described the appearance of Svyatoslav. He had a hairdo - a strand of hair on the side. Ukrainian Cossacks had the same hairstyles as Sviatoslav. Svyatoslav is also called Brave. When Svyatoslav was going to battle, he warned his enemy with the phrase - "I'm coming for you!"
