Layers of whites and ink lines create this piece. a brown pelican falling. Tears mad of tar and oil. inked legs sinking near a stingray. Disruption of migratory patterns in animals. A lovely piece with many delicate lines and strokes.

Amy, also known by the nickname "Shel", lives in Kansas City, Missouri with her husband, daughter and various animals. I have been working with the subject of migration and movement of species, space, cells, and even thoughts. This work began after the drought of 2012 as I watched plants wither, and birds began migrating early to find water, rather than warmth. At the time I had just settled in a city, a home, for the 5th time in 5 years. Always making the move for gainful employment within our tumbling economy. this past year I was diagnosed with cancer and have learned about inward migration. cellular synthesis, movement, mutation, and the environment within. The work is continuing and beginning to reflect my own personal migrations, I feel like our world, our environment, affects not only the plants and animals, but us. There is something happening, and I would like to shine a light.
