About The Artwork
"Farther" is my latest work and a pivotal example of a struggle for balance between visceral and logical subjects. The subjects in my pieces are thoughts or desires within ourselves. Visceral subjects are colorful and moving whereas logical ones are more neutral and fixed. Each piece is a suite of time where perhaps a balance exists between the subjects. The title "Farther" is directed towards the green subject. Does it or does it not need to traverse the logical subject or has it already? Are the other visceral thoughts falling or ascending towards the logical subject? Can you the viewer rest and find calm? Salvation? 48 x 60 in. oil, oil pen on canvas. Signature front and back.
