About The Artwork
Along with an entire series of underwater subjects from photographs, this one was a search for a human figure that represented anxiety. I think it does that well. It is me, under pressure of loss and pain, and it was a relief to paint it, to review that part of myself. I am not reluctant to let it go however, because pain and anxiety are not something I really wish to be reminded of, however, they are good to contemplate on occasion, like a comparison of my current blessings for instance.
