Madrid 2018 Within the series - Contemplating the garden - the medium format chosen to paint this work is motivated after contemplation. From Velazquez's work ¨The Surrender of Breda ¨ it was the way of distributing the volumes that inspired this painting, in the Master's work despite the conflict, the atmosphere is of a certain courtesy, and I wanted that feeling to be reflected in my work, where the colors are in position without confrontation. The license that I allow myself when interpreting what I see, is a cure of humility and not of pride, since trying to imitate the color of nature in any case is nothing more than audacity on my part, but due to my professional condition it is stronger the honest impulse to express publicly without shame what I feel when facing the work.
