About The Artwork
This was done some years back at a drop-in life drawing session. I liked the pose and how it compressed the figure into a shape that lay nicely in a rectangle. This is a piece with an intimate feeling and until recently lived in our house in a private room. It is stretched on a shallow (¾") stretcher bars. Can be hung as is, without a frame, or if preferred could easily be framed in any numbers of ways. Currently, has a braided wire on the back for easy, conventional hanging. Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower left corner. I prefer it without glass but the oil stick marks (very solid after 10 years) have a slight raised texture and could be scratched. If the piece is hanging on a wall, that should be protection enough. This piece personifies my love of the gestural mark.
