ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Fimbulwinter no. 3" is painted in acrylic on canvas, mounted on panel. It is hung on the wall with a hidden cleat that makes it appear to float when hung. It is painted with heavy layers of opaque and transparent paint, and its finish is highly reflective. The line work is modeled after a set of my grandfather's civil-engineering diagrams from the mid-1940's. The title comes from Norse mythology and refers to the events leading up to Ragnarok. Its translation means "Great Winter."
