About The Artwork

This painting was inspired by “Fire and Ice” - one of Robert Frost's most popular poems, which discusses the end of the world, likening the elemental force of fire with the emotion of desire, and ice with hate. My interpretation is slightly different. Apart from the obvious symbolism of the colors: orange for autumn and white for winter, referring to the fire and water elements, the painting intents to show the unimaginable complexity and integrity of the life cycle without beginning or end. In the first yellow leaf appeared during the spring, fall is encoded, in the first cool summer morning winter is encrypted. Where is the beginning and where the end?

I make my art for myself:) "People always make the mistake of thinking art is created for them. But really, art is a private language for sophisticates to congratulate themselves on their superiority to the rest of the world. As my artist’s statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance". (Bill Watterson) I do enjoy working in all media but my latest favorite is digital and mixed media collage. My interest is focused on raw expression, on the interaction between color and emotion and how it is conveyed through different materials, paints, different tools’ strokes and embossing. My restless mind continually challenges me to experiment with new media, methods, materials, tools and ideas, which I find everywhere, sometimes all of a sudden and in most unexpected places. I often start my paintings without not even having a vague idea about what it will be like. Then something happens, my hands turn into mere tools, my mind proceeds to "nirvicharta", I can feel "purusha" detached from "prakriti" and here it is, my work comes out complete.
