About The Artwork
I bought an oil painting from a thrift store about 15 years in Philadelphia and for the last few years I have toyed with selling it " as is" or creating a new painting using the same canvas. This year, I attended a special psychic school and under hypnosis, met several spirit guides who urged me to overhaul the canvas. Ive been an intuitive reader since 1988 and Ive been studying astrology since 1989. This altered painting is about the planets and the current position. Mars, the planet of war has just gone retrograde ( which means it is moving backwards). It will be retrograde until the end of August 2018 so it is important not to start anything new until the end of August. I let my spirit guides take over and create this painting ( or alter it). I used paint pens and it is on stretched canvas and has a wire hanger in the back ready to hang. It is unframed but would look fabulous framed in a gold wood frame. My work is unique and one of a kind. I have signed it on the front and will sign it on the back.

I was admitted on the spot to the San Francisco Art Institute upon showing the Dean of Admissions my portfolio of Thurberesque Drawings with funny captions. Much of my artistic inspiration from my flea market finds ( vintage & rare ephemera), my huge unusual vintage, children's book collection, dance & burlesque performances, icons, symbols and images from all kinds of religions and my exploration into personal relationships. Although I have a distinctive style, I have explored many mediums- collage, painting, drawing, print making & fabric design, digital art. Some of my work is pretty and decorative but I also create ugly & raw paintings. These self therapy paintings are meant to be ugly and humourous . Kitsch, fashion, phtography, film, Children's art, German expressionism, Matisse, Dufy, Nolde, Redon as well as unknown outsider & folk+ art brut artists are have contributed to my style.
