About The Artwork
This super sized painting was inspired by a trip I took to the Norwegian Fjords. Travelling to Norway was high up on my bucket list and to say it lived up to my expectations in an understatement. It totally blew me away. The landscape is vast, epic and beautiful. I have tried to capture the essence of this magnificent biblical spectacle in this painting. The stark, minimal nature of this work together with its grand scale make a terrific bold statement. The dark colours were achieved by applying numerous layers of oil glazes. Dark teal, red and green transparent pigments layer upon each other achieving a complex deep richness that is hard to capture on camera, I am planning on painting a series of large scale works based on this amazing trip. This piece is the first one of the series.

I grew up surrounded by art and artists and have never considered doing anything else other than painting. Born and raised in the UK by Danish/Polish parents and having relatives all over the world, I was fortunate enough to be influenced by multiple cultures. I am a free and expressive painter who gains inspiration from the very act of being alive. I am a self taught artist, never desiring the the restraints of structure, guidelines and rules. I work predominantly in acrylic, as I love the spontaneity they offer, but I do love to experiment with other mediums. My work has sold to collectors in Denmark, Spain, France, Iceland, Thailand and the USA, as well as in my native UK. I hope my art enables the viewer to make some personal and emotional connection with my work, as well as finding it aesthetically pleasing.
