About The Artwork

Salvador Dalí´s painting Crucifixion (Corpus Hypercubus) inspired "Flight of the Hypercube". It is an experimentation with the subject matter of visualising multiple dimensions on a backdrop of deep spirituality. This work is made of pure gold, silver and ground gemstone lapis from Chile (with a lighter blue hue than the Indian lapis) used traditionally in classical painting to depict the spiritual and immaterial religious element in combination with the geometric and mathematical structure of the Tesseract (or Hypercube), the visual four dimensional shadow of a cube. The canvas was hand primed and stretched on the wooden frame by the artist. Since then the work has grown over the space of 8 years, deepening in meaning, meditation and thought. Immerse and lose yourself contemplating immaterial time and form, the deep bright blue of the lapis surface lets your eyes wander into the depth of your soul, held by a net of gold and silver. It is a very powerful painting and will dominate its space, please give it room to breathe. I also have not really decided on how to hang it, at the moment I have it horizontally, you are free to play.

Born in 1971 in Manchester, Great Britain. I currently live and work in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. I love various media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, crystals and glass, light and digital art. All my work is based on the properties of light, it is designed to explore the underlying, unconscious and unseen structure of space and time created by light and the visualization of energy and the communication of information within. In using colour, light and surface structure, my work is designed to directly challenge and force you to explore and contemplate. My aim is to create a personal desire to understand the visual experience within the precisely calculated colour and dimension to the work. I feel at home following the ideals of the constructivist and concrete art movement, adapting this calculated and strict structure and opening it up to deep emotions within balanced depth of colour.
