Flight of the Sparrow is part colourful abstract and part representational artwork, taking its influence from a verse written by The Venerable Bede around the 8th Century about how the flight of a sparrow through the banqueting hall is like the short life of a man. This verse and artwork come together to form the central panel in ten artworks produced for display at Bede metro rail station in Jarrow England, where copies of the original work can be seen until October 2016. The painting on MDF measures 3ft x 6ft (92cm x 184cm) in a matt finish.
