About The Artwork
In this painting I am exploring my interest in colour and the effect that colours have on each other when placed next to each other and when they overlap. the base layer shapes are free, full of curves, tonal and opaque. The circles that over lay the tonal base are bright, colourful and transparent. I was aiming to create a 3D feel to the piece; with echoes of colourful air bubbles floating above a watery base. I find acrylic paint suits this painting style really well as it can be used both opaquely and transparently when thinned down with acrylic polymer thinners. The canvas is 46 x 46 inches in size and the painting dimensions are slightly over 40 x 40 inches. This allows a margin of 3 inches around the painting for framing. The painting is sealed with 2 layers of matt spray varnish, which you can add to once framed if you prefer a satin or gloss finish. The painting is rolled in single sided silicone release paper on a central plastic tube, bubble wrapped and then shipped to you in a sturdy card board tube.

Welcome to my Saatchi web page. My painting process is an intuitive activity and a continual process of exploration. My work is generally non representational and an attempt to articulate creative ideas and thoughts through an exploration of rhythms, sequences, patterns and cycles using colours, lines, shapes, textures and layers. I photograph all of my work in my workshop, which benefits from a transparent roof and a north light, making the photographed colours as accurate as is possible with a digital camera. I also try to photograph on cloudy days again for consistency and accuracy of colour. My work is collected both nationally and internationally; collectors include LVMH. My paintings are unique 'one offs' and I include a signed Certificate of Authenticity with each sale.
