About The Artwork

Abstract textured acrylic painting on canvas 100 x 100 x 2 cm. Mixed Media on gallery wrapped canvas. The work is ready to hang. No framing required. The sides of the work are painted. About this artwork: This is the first painting I painted after a long vacation in Italy. In principle, this picture could be called “Meditation”, since I forgot to take absolutely everything on vacation for painting. For an artist, this is unbearable. It's like a strong addiction. It's like having your morning coffee suddenly taken away from you. Images constantly arose in my head, memories of how pleasant it is to press on a cool aluminum tube of paint, how a spatula slides and pushes through soft shiny paint, how shapes and lines appear almost by themselves. Perhaps only swimming in the sea, I did not think about paints and canvases. Arriving home and sorting out all the things, I naturally immediately plunged into the colors, as into the azure sea in Italy. It is not surprising, of course, that my choice fell on an amazing blue color and became the main color in this picture. And the flowers and butterflies on the canvas convey all the colorful impressions of that vacation. I put into every leaf and into every wing of butterflies my passion for paints, for the process of creating soft gentle forms. It was so meditative and satisfying, like the first sip of delicious coffee after a long break. The artwork is signed, dated and titled. Original artwork with signed Certificate of Authenticity. Style: semi-abstract. My technique shows some influence from abstract expressionism and modern art. I use original mixed media, in which undiluted acrylic paint, ink, gel medium, structure paste are applied to the canvas. I like to paint impasto abstract paintings. I use spatulas, tubes for writing and usual knives for fruits to build three-dimensional flowers and surfaces in my pictures.

Statement: “I feel my mission is to create art works from inner silence.” - Anastassia Skopp Born in Russia, Anastassia Skopp was raised by her Mom in the city of Saransk where she studied art for 7 years (1985-1992) at the Mordovian Art College named after P.F. Ryabov for children and young people. There she learned about drawing, composition, art of painting and sculpturing from well-known artists and painters (including P.F. Ryabov). Welcome to Anastassia's world of floral paintings, where art and spirituality converge to create a unique and transformative experience. As an artist, she has devoted years to studying spiritual books by Eckhart Tolle, and her art is a reflection of this profound exploration. According to Tolle, flowers serve as messengers from another world, bridging the divide between the physical and the formless. They emit a subtle fragrance that not only pleases the senses but also carries an aroma from the spiritual realm. Anastassia's paintings extend an invitation to immerse oneself in this realm of meditative floral enchantment, where impasto colors and textures intertwine to foster a sense of tranquility and serenity. Her technique draws inspiration from abstract expressionism and modern art, employing a distinctive combination of mixed media that includes undiluted acrylic paint, ink, gel medium, and structure paste. Through these mediums, she crafts three-dimensional flowers and surfaces. She particularly delights in creating impasto abstract pieces, utilizing spatulas, tubes, and fruit knives to achieve a tactile and textured effect. Anastassia's mission is to create art that emanates from inner silence, transmitting this state of being to the viewer. Each painting becomes an oasis of focus and tranquility amidst the tumultuousness of everyday life, offering a moment of stillness and serving as a reminder of the beauty and interconnectedness of all things. Her works have been collected by individuals and art enthusiasts worldwide, spanning from Japan to the USA and Canada.
