About The Artwork

This is where my professional development started. I joined the local art school soon after finishing the primary stage. In the first two years the school was focusing on teaching observational drawing and basic painting skills, using water colours at first than later oil painting. The entire process from the beginning until the end was super exciting. The curriculum was mainly directed on still life and the drawing one was focused on busts. The first two years I was experimenting and trying to find my way into painting whilst developing my drawing skills. Although sometimes it felt a bit like I was trapped in a box doing the same thing over and over again, I always got to discover new things. Both visually and on personal level. The flowers I am showcasing here are the outcome. Coloured greys are predominantly present in my works as I was fascinated by them at that time. Some of them I am still using nowadays but in a slightly different way. I was fascinated by the ranges of hues that can be archived using oil paint so every canvas was an amazing chapter. Writing about this is taking me right back in those studios with wooden floors and white walls with paint on them. The feeling of joy and excitement when I was coming in every time is still very vivid in me.

'Sceptical towards a passion for beauty and intrigued by the esthetics of unprettiness.' 'Remain truthful to your beliefs and values. They will shape and define until the end.' My work portrays the deepest and darkest aspects of human nature such as the grotesque, the conflictual beliefs and the human morality in a transitional and personal interpretation. My purpose is to create a personal self-analytical perspective of viewing things by delivering emotion and message through metaphor, colour and texture. I depict the distorted moments, historical and cultural events giving a strong and complex artistic visual and textural interpretation.
